Minnesota United must mandate proof of COVID-19 vaccination to enter Allianz Field. The Red Loons have asked MNUFC to take the lead on this issue on previous occasions, and we now demand they take action.
We are in the middle of a pandemic. COVID cases are spiking, and thousands of Americans are dying every day. ICUs in Minnesota are overflowing with the unvaccinated sick. Now more than ever, MNUFC needs to prioritize the safety of its workers and supporters unequivocally. They can achieve this by requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test to enter Allianz Field.
Until MNUFC adopts this safety protocol, the Red Loons, like the Dark Clouds this weekend, will be removing our capos from the Wonderwall and limiting our match day activities, which will include not flying Red Loons or Red Loons-affiliated flags in the supporters section. We want to fully participate in soccer, but we can’t until everyone is safe.
Many professional sports teams are willing and able to mandate proof of vaccination or a recent negative test for entry to their stadiums. The following is a non-comprehensive list of teams that do so:
Brooklyn Nets
Buffalo Bills
Chicago Sky
Golden State Warriors
Las Vegas Raiders
Los Angeles FC
Los Angeles Galaxy
Nashville Predators
New York Mets
New York Yankees
New Orleans Saints
Portland Thorns
Portland Timbers
San Francisco Giants
Seattle Kraken
Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Sounders FC
Toronto Blue Jays
Toronto FC
Toronto Maple Leafs
Toronto Raptors
Winnipeg Jets
Minnesota United: do the right thing. Keep your workers and fans safe. Mandate proof of vaccination at Allianz Field.
